Pet urine and odor removal, at the source
UV inspection finds the spots you cannot see. Enzyme treatment breaks down urine where the smell comes from, from $49 per room.
Pet urine odor comes back when the urine salts in the carpet pad are covered up instead of broken down. Like Day One uses a UV light to find every spot, then treats each one with an enzyme solution and extracts it, from $49 per room in Honolulu.
Pet urine and odor removal in Honolulu is harder than most people expect. Humidity reactivates old urine salts, so a hallway that smells fine in the morning can smell strong on a muggy afternoon. Most of the problem sits under the surface, in the backing and the pad, where a spray from the store never reaches.
Vitor & Fabi start with a UV inspection. Under UV light, dried urine glows, even spots that are years old. We mark every one, show you what we found, and then treat at the source with an enzyme solution that breaks urine down instead of perfuming over it.
We are pet owners ourselves. Our products are safe for paws once dry, and we will tell you honestly when a spot has gone too deep to fix with cleaning alone. For homes with a dog on the sofa and a cat in the bedroom, the Pet Family package covers the sofa and 2 rooms of carpet for $469.

How we clean it, step by step
- 01
Lights off, UV on
We scan carpet, rugs and furniture with a UV light and mark every urine spot we find.
- 02
Enzyme saturation
Each spot gets an enzyme treatment that soaks as deep as the urine went, not just the top of the fibers.
- 03
Dwell time
Enzymes need time to work. While they do, we clean the rest of the room.
- 04
Extract & rinse
We flush and extract the treated areas so the broken-down residue leaves your home with us.
- 05
Recheck with UV
We scan again, show you the result and give you tips to keep your pet from returning to the same spot.

Enzyme treatment vs. masking the smell
Most pet odor sprays are perfume. They cover the smell for a day or two, then humidity brings it back. Some store products also leave a sticky film that attracts dirt and, worse, still smells like a bathroom spot to your dog.
Urine dries into salts and crystals that bond to the fibers and the pad. Enzyme treatment works differently: it breaks those compounds down so they can be rinsed away. It needs enough product to reach as deep as the urine went, and it needs time. That is why we treat first, clean the rest of the room while it works, then extract.
Steam alone can make things worse. High heat on an untreated urine spot can set the stain and push the smell deeper. Order matters.
What the UV inspection shows
A UV light turns dried urine a bright yellow-green glow. In a typical visit we find spots the owner never knew about: along the wall behind the sofa, under the bed, at the corner of the hallway. Cats in particular like hidden corners.
We mark each spot so you can see it too. Then we treat every one, not just the stain you pointed out. After extraction we scan again. Some spots fade completely, and some older ones only get lighter. We show you honestly.
If urine has soaked through the pad into the subfloor, cleaning can reduce the odor a lot but may not remove it completely. In that case the lasting fix is replacing that section of pad and sealing the subfloor. We tell you that up front, before you pay for a treatment that will not solve it.
Pet Family package and protection for the sofa
Pets rarely stop at the carpet. The Pet Family package covers your sofa, 2 rooms of carpet and UV pet treatment for $469. It is our most booked option in Kailua and Hawaii Kai, where most homes have at least one dog.
After cleaning, add fabric protection to the sofa. It repels spills and makes cleanup easier, which buys you time to blot an accident before it soaks into the cushion. What clients say about our pet urine & odor work
Pet urine & odor: questions, answered
Still unsure? Text us a photo and ask — a real person answers.
Will the pet urine smell come back after cleaning?
In most homes, no. Enzyme treatment breaks down the source of the odor instead of covering it. The smell can return if urine reached the subfloor, or if your pet uses the same spot again. We tell you honestly what to expect after the UV inspection and give tips to break the habit.
Are the products safe for my dog and cat?
Yes. We use enzyme treatments and cleaning products that are safe for pets once dry. We ask you to keep pets in another room or on the lanai while we work, and off treated areas until they are dry. Most areas are dry within a few hours, depending on the carpet.
Can you remove old pet stains, not just the smell?
Often, yes, but not always. Urine can change the color of carpet dye over time, especially on light carpet. Odor usually responds well to treatment, while old yellow stains may only get lighter. We point out which spots look like dye damage before we start, so you know what to expect.
Do you treat pet urine on sofas and mattresses?
Yes. The UV inspection works on upholstery and mattresses too. Fabric needs a gentler approach than carpet, so we test first and use less moisture. The Pet Family package covers a sofa plus 2 rooms of carpet with UV treatment. For mattresses and other furniture, we quote after seeing a photo.
How much does pet urine removal cost in Honolulu?
Pet treatment is $49 per room as an add-on to carpet cleaning, and it includes the UV inspection. The Pet Family package is $469 for a sofa, 2 rooms of carpet and UV pet treatment. Prices are before GET. Send a photo for a flat quote on larger jobs.
When is pad replacement a better option?
When urine has soaked through the pad into the subfloor over months or years. Cleaning can reduce the odor but cannot reach the wood or concrete below. The lasting fix is replacing that pad section and sealing the subfloor. We tell you this after the inspection, before you spend money on treatment alone.
