Couch and sofa cleaning in Honolulu
Deep extraction cleaning for the couch your family actually lives on. Done by the owners, Vitor & Fabi, with pet- and kid-safe products.
Professional couch cleaning in Honolulu starts at $219 for a standard 3-seat sofa with Like Day One, and most sofas are dry in 4–6 hours. We test the fabric first, then use hot-water or low-moisture extraction so you can see the dirt come out in the recovery tank.
Your sofa looks fine from across the room. Up close, it holds skin oils, pet dander, sand from the beach, crumbs and the musty smell that Honolulu humidity pushes into every cushion. Our couch and sofa cleaning in Honolulu pulls all of that out, and we show you the water so you know it worked.
Vitor & Fabi run every job themselves. We read your fabric tag, test a hidden spot, and choose the method that fits the fiber, not the one that is fastest. Linen, cotton, microfiber, velvet and performance fabrics each get a different approach. You get a flat "from" price before we start, and a sofa you can sit on again by dinner.

How we clean it, step by step
- 01
Inspect & test
We check the fabric code, frame, stains and odor, and test a hidden spot for color bleed or shrinkage.
- 02
Vacuum & pre-treat
A deep dry vacuum removes loose soil, then we pre-treat arms, headrests and any spots.
- 03
Extract
We rinse and extract the fabric section by section. You can watch the water change color.
- 04
Groom & dry
We brush the fibers so they dry evenly and set up airflow with your AC, fans or open lanai doors.
- 05
Walk-through
We check the result with you and explain anything that did not fully release.

Why sofas in Honolulu get dirty faster
Oahu is hard on upholstery. Year-round humidity keeps fabric slightly damp, which helps body oils and dust bind to the fibers. In condos near the water, salt air settles on everything. In Kailua and Hawaii Kai, beach sand ends up in the seams. Add a dog that naps on the cushions and you get a sofa that smells stale even when it looks clean.
That musty smell is often the first sign of trouble. When a couch sits against a wall with little airflow, or the AC runs only part of the day, moisture can build up inside the cushions. Regular cleaning removes the soil that feeds odor and mildew. It is the same reason we tell clients in Kakaako high-rises to keep a small gap between the sofa and an exterior wall.
We clean by fabric, not by habit
Every sofa has a cleaning code on its tag. We read it before anything else:
- W — water-based cleaning is safe. Most cotton blends and microfibers.
- S — solvent-based only. We use a dry or low-moisture method.
- WS — either method, with care. We pick based on the stain.
- X — vacuum only. We will tell you honestly what we can and cannot do.
Natural linen and cotton can shrink or brown if they get too wet, so we use controlled moisture and dry them fast. Velvet needs its pile brushed in one direction while it dries. Performance fabrics like Crypton or Sunbrella handle water well but still trap oils. Knowing the difference is the whole job.
Keep it clean longer
After cleaning is the best moment to add protection, because the fibers are open and free of residue. Our fabric protection repels spills and makes cleanup easier. It is not a force field, but it gives you time to blot before a spill soaks in. The Sofa Shield bundle combines both for $289. See every option on our pricing page. Many families pair a sofa visit with mattress cleaning so the whole home gets done in one trip, from Kakaako to Kailua.
What clients say about our sofa & couch work
Sofa & couch: questions, answered
Still unsure? Text us a photo and ask — a real person answers.
How long does a sofa take to dry?
Most sofas are dry to the touch in 4–6 hours. Drying is faster with the AC on or the trade winds coming through an open lanai door. Thick cushions and humid, still days can take a little longer. We set up airflow before we leave and tell you when it is ready to use.
Is the cleaning safe for kids and pets?
Yes. We use pet- and kid-safe cleaning solutions and rinse them out during extraction, so very little residue stays in the fabric. There is no heavy chemical smell. Keep pets and little ones off the sofa until it is dry, mostly so damp fabric does not pick up new dirt.
Will every stain come out?
Most everyday stains release, including food, drinks, body oil and pet accidents. Some stains, like old dye transfer, bleach marks or set-in coffee on natural fibers, may lighten but not disappear. We tell you before we start what is realistic, so there are no surprises when we finish the job.
How often should I clean my couch in Honolulu?
For most homes, every 12 months is enough. With pets, small kids or allergies, every 6 months keeps odor and allergens under control. Oahu humidity makes regular cleaning more important than on the mainland, because moisture helps soil and odor settle deep into the cushions over time.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the sofa, and we like to do a quick walk-through at the end. For a single sofa, the visit takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Many clients work from another room or step out while we clean.
Can you clean a sofa with an X cleaning code?
An X code means the maker recommends vacuum only. We can vacuum, groom and carefully spot-treat some marks with a dry method, but we will not wet-clean it. We explain the limits honestly before you book, so you can decide whether a visit is worth it.
